Explore Marketplace offerings
-
Register your brand: If you’re a rights owner with registered trademarks, the Walmart Brand Portal can help you simplify your brand management. Within one easy-to-use interface, you can manage your various brands, submit multiple types of intellectual property claims and track claim statuses.
-
Ship and fulfill items through Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS): When a customer places an order on Walmart.com, Walmart will pick, pack and ship the item to the customer on your behalf. WFS also handles all customer support and returns for these orders.
-
Explore advertising solutions: With Walmart Marketplace advertising solutions, you can leverage many types of advertising offerings to get your brand and products in front of more customers. You’ll gain access to exclusive ad inventory through Sponsored Search, Onsite Display and Brand Shop and Shelf, which allow you to promote your products on Walmart.com and on the Walmart app.
-
Expand to international markets: As a global platform, Walmart Marketplace can help you scale your business and achieve global reach. Upon successfully completing setup requirements for the market you wish to sell in, U.S. Marketplace sellers may be eligible to sell their products on the Walmart Canada Marketplace, the Walmart Mexico Marketplace or the Walmart Chile Marketplace.
Complete onboarding in Seller Center
Once you’ve created your Walmart Marketplace account and agreed to Walmart’s terms and conditions, you’ll use Seller Center to manage your Marketplace account and catalog.
Step 1 - Get verified
- Business verification is a crucial step that helps Walmart confirm your company’s credentials. To avoid delays in processing, enter your business information, including your entity type and tax registration. Your tax registration must precisely match your IRS records or government-issued documents. You must also include personal information, including the personal ID of the applicant or legal representative, as required.
Note: If you’re based outside the U.S., you’ll need to provide additional verification, as well as location-specific documentation.
Step 2 - Add market details
-
Provide your customer service details. If you’re an international seller, you can provide your U.S. tax ID (if you have one) and your corresponding U.S. legal business name.
Step 3 - Manage fulfillment
-
Simplified Shipping Settings is recommended if you have U.S. operations and want protection against carrier delays using Walmart-calculated transit times. If you prefer to set your own transit times, select Shipping Templates. Then provide the required details for Return Labels, Return centers and Fulfillment center.
After completing your account setup, you can manage your shipping settings anytime from the Shipping Profile section of your Account page in Seller Center.
Pro tip: Once you've completed the onboarding process and set up your first item, you can choose to fulfill specific items through Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS). Review WFS Seller onboarding and setup to learn more.
Step 4 - Get paid
- Choose how you want to get paid by signing up with a third-party payment processor. Payout provider options vary based on your country of incorporation. As a new seller, you’ll experience a New Seller Payment Hold after you begin selling on Walmart Marketplace to allow time to build sales history and credibility. The timeframe of this hold varies by your country of incorporation.
Step 5 - Set up your catalog
- You must complete the steps above before you can create your Marketplace catalog. When you’re ready, choose how you want to set up your catalog. For example, you can import your catalog from an external marketplace, or if you’re a Walmart Drop Ship Vendor (DSV) or Warehouse supplier, you can import items from your Supplier One catalog.
Once you’ve finished setting up your catalog items and their inventory, your account setup will be complete.
Note: It may take up to four hours after adding your inventory for your account setup to be complete.
Pro tip: If you sell products that don't have a product ID (e.g., private label or handmade jewelry), you can request a UPC or GTIN exemption to sell these items on Walmart.com. To request an exemption, review Request a GTIN exemption.
